Abstract

This article explores possibilities for collaboration between organized labor and worker centers in the United States. As a point of departure, the article describes a formal partnership created in 2006 between the AFL-CIO and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON). Areas for collaboration that are discussed include occupational safety and health, enforcement of the Davis-Bacon Act, educational campaigns, local partnerships, and job training & apprenticeship programs.
