Abstract

This is the English version of a research note published in the Italian Labour Law journal, Lavoro e Diritto, anno XXIV, n. 1, inverno 2010, pp 151-164. It considers the responses of Australian government, business and industry, and trade union leadership to the challenges of the global financial crisis. It notes the impact of the crisis on wage negotiations, the progress of legislative reforms, immigration policy and corporate governance initiatives.
