Abstract
The climate of higher education has shifted attention to accountability and evidence-based planning as the centralize force for college progression. As mandated from accrediting bodies, institutions have levitated to models of continuous quality improvement mechanism and strategies. This new paradigm has brought about resistance and reluctance to change. Similar to private organizations, the slower progressing institutions are lacking in performance and in many cases this low performance has resulted in accreditation sanctions. The following report investigates the growing pains of change through the venues of crisis and conflict and provides guidance for effective leadership response. Additionally, the study reflects on a case that shows an effective transition through crisis and conflict to adopt the new changes and strategies to meet accreditation requirements.
