Current fields of research include Dutch national property law, Dutch law of partnerships, comparative property law, comparing various European legal systems and US legal systems, and financial collateral arrangements. Another research field is a large scale research, over the course of many years, into Dutch World War II rules and post-war 'restoration of rights' proceedings in the Netherlands involving war-time transactions, e.g. forced sales to German buyers. This research involves elaborate archival research into hundreds of documents written by e.g. the persons involved in making and executing the applicable legislation. Most of this research is aimed at artworks. In addition I'm finalizing an article on limitation periods for actions to reclaim (replevy) art works and other movable goods in various European and US systems.
