Abstract:
This case describes the ethical approach to business of Suresh Hundre, an entrepreneur based in the southern Indian city of Belgaum. In the early part of his career, Hundre does take short-cuts to obtain business advantage but realizes that this approach is neither professionally nor personally appropriate. He then reforms his behavior and faces a number of battles with local governmental officials. By overcoming them, he shows that business can be done ethically even in environments where corruption is widespread.
