Mutual Funds in Spain (Fondos de Inversion. 1991-2007)

Bermejo Universidad de Navarra - IESE Business School February 19, 2008 Abstract: During the last 10 years (1998-2007), the average return of the mutual funds in Spain (2.2%) was smaller than the average inflation (3.0%). Nevertheless, on December 31, 2007, 8,264,240 investors in the 2,907 existing mutual funds had 239 billion euros. Only 30 of the 935 mutual funds with 10-year history outperformed the benchmark.
