Abstract:
In 2004 IBM announced that it was selling its personal computer business unit to a Chinese company. The announcement raised many questions, and some fear, that IBM was losing its competitive edge in an industry it helped to create. Questions were also raised concerning the ability of the Chinese company to compete in the ever-competitive global personal computer industry.
