Abstract

This article identifies the shared origins of the legal services and clinical legal education movements and posits that both would benefit from renewed attention to historic connections, collaboration and synergies. In particular, the article suggests that law school clinics - with their freedom from significant funding restrictions and access to research universities - can serve as sites of inquiry to inform a renewed and robust anti-poverty agenda.

Keywords: clinic, law school, legal services, clinical legal education
