Australian Environmental Law: A Federal OverviewDonald K. AntonAustralian National University - ANU College of Law June 6, 2008 Abstract: This piece provides a detailed snapshot of national environmental law in 2001. Much has moved on since, but the analysis here was written shortly after the enactment of the first major piece of reform legislation (the Environmental Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999) since the inception of federal environmental legislation in Australia in the early 1970s and to that extent remains relevant.
