Particular attention is given to the banking system, bankruptcies and rehabilitation of banks. Furthermore, the paper analyzes the development of insurance companies, investment funds and pension funds as important components of the financial system. The state and development of money and capital markets is analyzed as well. The legislation covering the major financial institutions is reviewed and compared with the legislation in highly developed market economies.
