Simple Steps: Teaching Legal Argumentation Using the Legal Argument Template

Abstract:     
The paper introduces a legal argument template which helps students write simple legal arguments. The template is based upon the FIRAC model used in law schools. The paper describes the major theories of cognitive development and critical thinking models upon which the template is based.
