Income Inequality and Crime in the United StatesJongmook ChoeUniversity of Texas at Austin - Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs March 6, 2009 Economics Letters, Vol. 101, pp. 31-33, 2008 Abstract: This paper investigates the relationship between income inequality and crime. Results show that there is a strong and robust effect of relative income inequality on burglary. Effect on robbery is also strong and robust in most cases.
