Mattress Tags and Pillow CasesMary WhisnerUniversity of Washington - School of Law May 7, 2009 Law Library Journal, Vol. 101, pp. 235-247, 2009 Abstract: Popular culture makes a joke of the crime of removing a mattress tag, but who knows anything about the law? I use mattress-tag law as a way to illustrate some of the challenges of researching regulations and the complexity of law even in an apparently simple area, since there are different mattress-tag regimes (federal, state, local) and different concerns (health, fire safety, competition law). A digression discusses some pillow cases.
