Behavioral Finance in Brazil: A First Map

Abstract:     
The present study contributes with the preliminary plotting of the Brazilian production in Behavioral Finance (FC) defined by the events and periodic Brazilian Society of Finance (SBFIN), Postgraduation and Research Courses National Encounter in Administration (ENANPAD), Magazine of Contemporary Administration (RAC), Companies Administration Magazine (RAE), RAE electronic, Administration Magazine (READ), selected from the Qualis' Ranking with positions The and B between 2001 and 2007. The study methodology is exploratory, bibliographical and documental with emphasis in the phenomena documented about FC. Like conductive thread of the research was used synthesis procedure from the hypothesis coverage of efficient markets (HME); rational theory of the choice and behavioral finance. After the research procedures was possible to identify that the scientific production about FC is concentrated on SBFIN and in ENANPAD with 74%. Such fact signals that the publication growth in events did not accompany for vinculação in magazines, generally associated to the largest methodological rigidity, suggesting a need to publication quality improvement in the area.
