Challenges to Genetic Privacy: The Case of Disclosure of Genetic Information to a Patient's Genetic RelativesTony BogdanoskiUniversity of Sydney - Faculty of Law 2008 Alternative Law Journal, Vol. 33, No. 3, pp. 165-168, 2008 Abstract: There is an inherent conflict that exists between maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality while, at the same time, attempting to protect the health interests of the patient's genetic relatives. This article considers disclosure of genetic information by health practitioners to a patient's genetic relatives, and the proposed NH & MRC guidelines to facilitate this disclosure.
