Abstract:
The article presents a concept of sustainable development and health concentrating first on the individual level, then on relations between humans and finally on the environment. This way of understanding the idea requires creating a whole system of social education in the home and at school for both individuals and groups (also including upbringing and self-upbringing). The article focuses on a wide range of references in the literature covering the scientific basis for creating a global image of oneself, the world and reciprocal relations between human beings and the environment, espe-cially in aspects of self-consciousness as well as the spiritual nature of humans which is a part of anima mundi entanglements or according to F. Capra “the web of life”. Several educational guidelines which ought to lead to the sustainable development of mankind, protection of the environment and its preservation for future genera-tions are presented.
