'The Stamp Collector'James D. RedwoodAlbany Law School 2006 TriQuarterly, Vol. 125, p. 159, 2006 Abstract: A confluence of circumstances overcomes a Vietnamese-American immigrant with personal memories of the fall of Saigon. Set in California against a backdrop of the battle of Grenada, a Vietnam-War veteran asks Ngo Quang Truong to translate a love letter retrieved from the body of a VC soldier he killed during the war. The amalgam of circumstance including both the contents and container of the letter force Ngo to painfully re-live and remember the tragedies of his life. This short story by author James Redwood tells the story of a man haunted by the past and internal conflicts of loyalty, trust and constancy.
