Abstract:     
This work, published as an editorial to the maiden anniversary issue of Trade, Law and Development, discusses the development of the Journal over the past year, its purpose and beliefs, and my thoughts on the state of student run law reviews in India. I conclude by acknowledging the efforts of those who have contributed towards a successful first year of the Journal and with my remarks on the road that lies ahead.
