Abstract:
Knowledge is the basis of shaping new social awareness that includes ecological and sustainable development awareness. Acquiring, processing and using knowledge in different undertakings is at the core of all actions performed by any human being. There is a necessity of constant education of children, young people and adults. The actions should be conducted by appropriately prepared teachers and be included in a well prepared system of schools and non-governmental organizations working together. One should emphasize that the goals of eco-logical education can be achieved only if it covers all aspects of formal and informal education. And above all it should have interdisciplinary and intergenerational character.
