Abstract
Legal researchers often forget about municipal ordinances when looking for governing authority. This essay discusses the wide range of topics that can be covered by local law, and encourages law librarians to think about it both when researching and when teaching the process of legal research. The essay includes a digression about “poop scoop” laws.
