In particular the recent development of websites such as Facebook and Twitter among others has led to concerns regarding the safeguarding of sensitive personal information from breaches of privacy, confidence and defamation. It is not yet established how the benefits of such media can be reconciled with such breaches of personal rights. Are traditional legal rights and procedures equipped to handle this problem in a timely fashion? And is this problem exacerbated by the inherent global reach of these new media”.
