Abstract:
Expectations were high for the ECJ’s most recent judgment on gambling. However, the ECJ handed down a judgment that, in large, repeats its former case law – simply, this time relating to internet gambling. The Court discloses in its ruling an apparent feeling of uneasiness towards private gambling operators. Furthermore, the decision raises questions with regard to the reasoning that the Court applies.
