Scattered Remarks on the International Legal Personality (Observations Éparses sur les Caractères de la Personnalité Juridique Internationale) (French)Giovanni DistefanoUniversity of Neuchatel - Faculty of Law; University of Geneva - Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights May 19, 2008 Annuaire Français de Droit International, Vol. 53, pp. 105-128, 2007 Abstract: This article deals with a controversial question, namely the international legal personality. Who are the entities that cane be considered as legal persons in Public International Law? What are their characteristics? Grossly speaking two definitions are examined not only at the light of dogmatic but, also and moreover, at the light of an empirical perusal of today's unchallenged international legal persons such as : States, International Organisations, Movements of National Liberation, Insurrectional Movements (or Insurgents), Holy See, ICRC, etc.
