Abstract:
This paper focuses on some actions undertaken by Latin American states within the framework of ICSID, which have reflected dissatisfaction with how this organization functions. Additionally, the paper analyzes the legal and political ways in which Latin American nations are opposing the ICSID system from outside of its framework. The aim of this paper is to provide a response to the following question: Is the current displeasure with ICSID in some Latin American countries likely to continue and spread to other countries throughout the region, and if so, why?
