Abstract:
This anniversary article focuses on the five men and one woman who provided leadership to the Michigan State Bar Foundation as president during its first 35 years: Glenn C. Gillespie (1947-1952), Philip A. Hart (1952-1954), Fred Roland Allaben (1954-1968), Henry L. Woolfenden (1968-1972), Mary H. Zimmerman (1972-1974), and Wallace D. Riley (1974-1982). Thanks to these leaders, the Foundation has lived up to its purpose of providing financial support for programs benefiting the public, the courts, and the profession of law. [Includes photographs.]
