Abstract:     
This paper analyses the quality model for assessment of legal research as developed by a commission of the Flemish Interuniversity Council, chaired by the author. The model not only includes publications in journals and books, but also research projects, lectures, conferences and supervision of Ph.D. work. The model also distinguishes between scientific work and scientific support work such as editing casebooks, writing editorials, brief not scholarly book reviews, etc.
