Abstract:     
This short essay was prepared for a lecture on 'Therapeutic and Collaborative Family Law,' sponsored by the law school at Barry University (Orlando), and slated for publication in a special law review issue launching Barry's new family law journal.

Using three cases from practice as examples, the essay proposes an initial framework for thinking about the intersection of criminal law practice with family systems – a type of 'family-friendly' criminal law practice.
