In 2009, KIC earned a return of 18.67%, and excess return of 1.42 percentage points, on its traditional portfolio, a considerable improvement over 2008. The keys to KIC's future prospects are alternative investments and a strengthening of financial talent, and KIC’s approach should be instructive for other emerged and emerging markets.
