Abstract:
The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) is a global asset management company established on 1 July 2005 with a mission to preserve and grow national wealth by pursuing high investment returns overseas. In 2009, KIC earned a return of 18.67%, and excess return of 1.42 percentage points, on its traditional portfolio, a considerable improvement over 2008. The keys to KIC's future prospects are alternative investments and a strengthening of financial talent, and KIC’s approach should be instructive for other emerged and emerging markets.
