Ethical Aspects of the Energy Issue: Toward a Sustainable Energy Future

Abstract:
This paper identifies and analyzes the ethical aspects of the energy issue. I argue that these ethical aspects are not just accessories to the technological, scientific, economic, and political aspects of the issue, but a crucial and inherent part of the energy issue and its potential solutions. I analyze these ethical aspects in detail and provide suggestions for ways of approaching them and of integrating ethical analysis into an overall scientific and technological approach to the future design of the energy system. I determine the ultimate goal to be a sustainable energy that is defined by both technological and ethical criteria.
