Islam and Democracy: Perceptions and MisperceptionsMohammad Omar Farooqaffiliation not provided to SSRN February 28, 2011 Abstract: The compatibility and convergence between Islam and democracy are hotly debated. The contending positions about this issue are often based on certain mutual misperceptions, which are discussed in this brief paper.
