In religious communities and specifically in Muslim communities, some religious commandments have overwhelmed the quantity and quality of tourism. Considering the reciprocity between religion and the tourism industry this article deals with the role of religion (Islam) in tourism industry in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this respect it studies the relationship between Islam and tourism, aspects of the interconnection between slam and tourism, manners of Muslims as hosts and guests, and finally the international collaboration in Islamic tourism industry.
