Abstract:     
In this article I explain how marital contracts under Belgian law offer planning opportunities both in community property regimes and in separation of property contracts, also with corrective mechanisms such as participation clauses or an added internal community property system. The focus is on the two most important risks: divorce and death (both as to the claims of forced heirs and as to the tax consequences of decease).
