Abstract:
This is an introduction to the electoral college that appears as the first chapter of the first volume of a three volume work entitled Voting in America. Edited by Morgan Felchner, the book was published by Praeger in 2008. The chapter highlights the dissonance between perception and reality in the current American approach to selection of the nation's President and Vice-President.
