Bernalaffiliation not provided to SSRN May 9, 2011 Universidad del Rosario Business School Research Paper No. 92 Abstract: In the past five years, companies have been confronted with an environment principally by the presence uncertainty, dynamism and complexity. Uncertainty evident when making decisions, without being able to have certainty about what can happen to the company, the dynamic look is accomplished by the permanent change in the customer needs and the emergence of new products, which causes increased competition for price, and the complexity can be identified in the emergence of new actors that must interact to conduct a transaction. Many companies have failed to address this situation in the best way, which has led them to present financial problems. One reason is the lack of perception environment. This paper uses the study of the jewelry sector using a quantitative overcrowding, overcrowding qualitative analysis performance, competitive landscape, competitive study, called the sector sustainable potential growth, erosion rates and market forces.
