Online Learning as a Change Agent in EducationLinda Weiser FriedmanBaruch College, CUNY - Zicklin School of Business; Graduate Center, CUNY Hershey H. FriedmanBrooklyn College - Department of Finance and Business Management June 22, 2011 Abstract: Students who are going to be successful in life must learn to acquire knowledge using all kinds of platforms. The belief that the only way people can learn is via classroom instruction is obsolete. Moreover, research does not support this view. The authors show how online learning is an important tool for achieving the goals of education that include creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and problem solving. In addition, online learning can help colleges save money while at the same time increase their offerings to students.
