The pressing need for updated information in a constantly changing business world combined with networking opportunities in the same field, necessities memberships to professional associations. The long-term success of these associations is affected by the effective use of information communication technologies. E-content comprising of media, visual, text, sound, video and animation when presented properly can be quite effective. Enabling information dissemination process through the internet is comparatively inexpensive, delivers instant international reach, offers great real time feedback and reaches millions of people for whom the web is the center of virtually all communications.

Professional association websites are typically put together by volunteers and are generally e-brochures with a few storefront features. This study reviews the following professional association websites and develops a model for successful one. A design strategy is recommended for these associations that incorporates e-commerce theory and the practical aspects of website development.
