Abstract:     
In this article we analyse the Belgian Supreme Court (Cour de Cassation) case law on causa in contracts, in particular the problem of disappearance of causa in case of donation (judgment 1989) or wills (judgment 2000). Also the distinction with a dissolving condition is discussed.
