Abstract:     
The Holy Qur’an has used the following words in explaining the various positions of the Inner Self of a human being:

1. Al-Nafs;
2. Al-Fu’ad;
3. Al-Qalb; and
4. Al-Ruh.

A complete research has been made as to what the Holy Qur’an says regarding the heart (al-qalb/ القلب).
