Abstract:
The paper expresses that mere faith is of no value if the conduct is not good. Thus the gist of Islam is Iman and A'mal Salih and the thing required in both of them is Ikhlas, i.e. sincerity. This comes by God fearing (Taqwa) and the ever presence of the sense of self accountability and then final reckoning on the Day of Judgment. An individual is to show all this in the society and in his social interaction on all sides and dimensions i.e. towards his own self, towards his Creator and towards the environment which includes mankind and all other things whether animate or inanimate. Thus dignity of mankind and service to humanity and remaining honest and truth in dealings and causing no harm or hurt to others in ones behaviour are the various traits of good conduct.
