Abstract:
On October 23-25, 2009, the Journal of Law and Religion celebrated its twenty-fifth year of publication devoted to “Speaking about Law and Religion” with a Symposium that brought a diverse group of scholars. At the Symposium, scholars, theologians, and lawyers had a conversation about law and religion, featuring Doug Strum, Milner Ball, and others. This piece includes the preface to the issue and provides context for the conversation between Professors Sturm (a theologian) and Professor Ball (a legal scholar) on how they came to view and embrace the relation of law and religion in their lives and work.
