Abstract:     
In supporting the inclusion of advance directive provisions in revised mental health legislation, the current ACT review offers the opportunity to consider the application of advance directive mechanisms in closer detail than has yet occurred in Australia. This paper provides a comparative analysis of international trends in psychiatric advance directives.
