Abstract:
This paper is on the subject of Justice of peace with reference to Pakistani law on criminal administration of justice. An exhaustive law is available in Pakistan in chapter II of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898. On the one side are the complainant and the accused and on the other side is the Police. A justice of peace is not a Court nor an Investigating Officer. It is an appointment of the nature of administrative and ministerial and do not involve judicial powers nor substitution with higher police authorities. The master piece judgment given by the Lahore High Court in the famous case of Khizar Hayat has enshrined golden principles on the subject which have been included in this article. Mr. Muhammad Amir Munir's Power Point Presentation http://ssrn.com abstract=195074 is commendable as a summary of the whole subject.
