Abstract:
Collection of delinquent property taxes has historically been a difficult task. The nonjudicial tax collection system in Georgia has hampered property tax collection efforts through burdensome notice requirements and clouded titles upon property sales, among other things. This article examines the problems of Georgia’s old tax collection system and how these problems were addressed by a new judicial collection process.
