Abstract:
Kalamazoo attorney Dean S. Lewis became President of the State Bar of Michigan in 1980. A former chairman of the State Bar Young Lawyers Section (YLS), he brought to both organization an emphasis on public service and bridging the gap between lawyers and laypeople. This profile of President Lewis was written by two colleagues who followed in his footsteps as YLS chairmen and later assumed leadership positions in the State Bar organization themselves.
