Abstract:
From the point of view of economic history and microeconomic theory, we carried out an enquiry on the state of the railway heritage in the province of Huelva and surveyed the chances of their preservation and/or reuse with cultural purposes, i.e. as tourist attractions. This heritage is the remains of the narrow-gauge railways owned by the concerns mining the Iberian Pyrite Belt since the last quarter of the 19th century; most of them foreign-owned companies.
