Market and Economic Regulation, Islamic PerspectiveKhaled BenjelayelIALS, University of London January 25, 2012 Abstract: Research on the theory of Islamic economic regulation is at best in its infancy. This paper, therefore, is an attempt to formulate a theoretical framework for regulating Islamic capital market. For the purpose of this paper, the public interest theory will be discussed by using legal analysis. Public interest or Maslaha , as an object of Islamic law, has extensively been elaborated on the legal literature of Islamic jurisprudence and hence it is useful for conducting this legal research.
