Perspectives of Small and Medium Enterprises for the Corporate Social Responsibility in JodhpurAshish MathurLachoo Memorial College of Science & Technology March 11, 2012 International Journal of Research in IT, Management and Engineering, Vol. 1, No. 2, 2012 Abstract: The corporate social responsibility involves the sensitivity of the organizations to become aware of and then respond to social issues. It deals with how individual companies respond to social issues and the forces which impact these social issues. The corporate social responsibility movement has gathered great momentum in India over the past number of years. The purpose of this paper is to provide an enhanced understanding of the nature of CSR by the small and medium scale industries. Specifically this research aims to uncover the small scale industries operating in Jodhpur with regard to their understanding of the nature of CSR, the type of CSR research activities undertaken and the management of CSR. In addition, this research analyses the main impact of CSR practices on the business operation and opportunities experienced by the SMEs when undertaking CSR. This paper highlights the way in which firms operating in Jodhpur define CSR. It emphasizes upon the management and activities of CSR among SMEs firms and uncovers the main impact of CSR practices on the business operations and the opportunities experienced by the SMEs when undertaking the CSR originality /value. It is hoped that this paper provides the initial insights into the nature of CSR in Jodhpur among the small and medium scale industries.
