Abstract:     
Launched in 2005, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is the Government of India’s (GOI) largest public health programme.

Using government data, this brief reports on NRHM expenditures along the following parameters: overall trends in fund allocation and expenditure: GOI and States, allocation and expenditure on key programmes like immunisation, physical coverage and human resource availability, and outcomes (IMR and MMR).
