Women in International Security Israel Middle East Review, Vol. 2, No. 4, 2012

Abstract:
This edition of the WIIS Israel Middle East Review is centered around game-changing women. These are women who have tested the limits and made revolutionary changes in the fields of peace and security. The first article discusses the domestic violence and sexual abuse that is a serious issue facing women in Palestinian and Arab communities. The next article highlights a Nobel Peace Prize winning Yemeni woman, who started a women-run newspaper to fight oppression and injustice against all people. The last article discusses how the Colombian woman Claudia Lopez exposed one of the greatest political scandals in modern history. The journal opens with an interview of Abeer Haad, a Palestinian film producer gives her insights on sexual abuse in Palestinian and Arab communities based on her experiences producing her film, 'Duma.'
