A New Proactive Routing Algorithm for MANET

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a new proactive routing algorithm for MANET called NPR, which is inspired by a Modified Ant Colony Optimization (MACO) framework and uses “ants” for route discovery, maintenance and improvement.

Simulation results are used to draw conclusions regarding to the proposed algorithm and compared it with the standard AODV protocol. Conducted experiments showed that our proposed algorithm exhibits superior performance with respect to reactive AODV routing algorithm in terms of packet delivery ration and end-to-end delay.
